Parkour

dog parkour Ponteland, Kirkley, Morpeth, Pegswood, Northumberland, Belsay, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Newcastle, Cramlington, Ashington, Dinnington, Rothbury, Otterburn & Hexham

Many people have experienced the bonding that Parkour can provide between human and dog on our ‘have a go’ experience at The North East Dog Festival.

This class is one of our most fun and our most popular, so book quickly to reserve your space as they do get booked up.

We often refer to this as dogs on logs but there is a lot more to it than that.

Whilst building your dog’s confidence you can be having a lot of fun together out on walks.

Do you sometimes find yourself out for a walk and feel like your dog wouldn’t notice if you weren’t there or do you have a dog who can be a bit nervous or unsure?

These classes can help you build that confidence and connection whilst having fun. You will learn how to safely use your environment to enrich your walks.

This class requires the use of a non tightening harness.

If your dog has a medical reason it cannot use a harness please contact us to discuss options. If you do not have a harness we can provide one temporarily for the class but you will need to purchase your own for when practising.

You do not need to be able to jump on logs yourself but the Parkour set up is at the far end of our field so a short walk is required.

Canine Hoopers

Canine Hoopers Ponteland, Kirkley, Morpeth, Pegswood, Northumberland, Belsay, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Newcastle, Cramlington, Ashington, Dinnington, Rothbury, Otterburn & Hexham

Hoopers is a great class which is suitable for everyone.

It is low impact so perfect for dogs who can’t manage the jumps in agility.

It involves going round obstacles, through tunnels and through hoops. It is even good for people who can’t run as fast as their dog as you even get points for being further away from your dogs.

I was first introduced to Hoopers at the APDT activity weekend and knew it was something I wanted to share with others.

Both of our dogs have had some sort of leg issue and agility was not for them. Arran has a real passion for Hoopers and just loves that he gets rewarded with a game of tug for running round!

We start by breaking the behaviours down, then we will get onto using the courses as quickly as we can.

If you want speed in your dog’s life without excessive impact Hoopers may be right for you.

Talking Dogs Rally

TD Rally Ponteland, Kirkley, Morpeth, Pegswood, Northumberland, Belsay, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Newcastle, Cramlington, Ashington, Dinnington, Rothbury, Otterburn & Hexham

Connection and loose lead working as a sport.

TD Rally has you loose lead walking with your dog across courses made up of different challenges.

With several levels, it is accessible for any dog/human team’s experience. After learning several stations and how to complete them, you combine many stations together to perform a course.

These can eventually be put together at TD Rally Trials where you can compete against yourself attempting to get as accurate a round as possible.

With an air of calmness over TD Rally it will help anyone with their loose lead walking skills and for those motivated to work with their dog beyond the initial puppy period it has goals to work towards.

Tricks Training

tricks training classes

Trick training is a great way to solidify the partnership with your dog.

As well as a lot of fun, training tricks is a wonderful way to bond with our dogs and to practice our training mechanics.

You never know when you will need to teach your dog a new behaviour.

For example, you might need a trick to distract your pup from that tempting squirrel.

Plus, a tired dog is a happy dog, and let’s be honest, learning new tricks is some serious mental exercise!
